0134 GMT - Indonesia's trade surplus is likely persist in 2025, but it could remain volatile or trend lower, say UOB economists Enrico Tanuwidjaja and Shaun Wirawan Susanto in a note. The Southeast Asian nation's 2024 annual trade surplus reached over $31 billion, exceeding UOB's forecast of $25 billion but falling short of 2023's $38 billion. The economists expect Indonesia's trade surplus to continue this year, supported by robust commodity exports. However, they anticipate a narrower surplus due to potentially higher imports of capital and consumer goods. (yingxian.wong@wsj.com)
