PPL Corp.'s chief operating officer is retiring, and the energy company is eliminating the post.

PPL on Tuesday said Francis Sullivan, who joined the Allentown, Pa., company in October 2021 and has been executive vice president and chief operating officer since January 2023, will retire on April 4.

PPL said Sullivan's duties will be assumed by David Bonenberger, who will become executive vice president and chief operating officer-utilities, and Lonnie Bellar, who will become executive vice president of engineering, construction and generation.

Bonenberger and Bellar, who currently report to Sullivan, will report to PPL President and Chief Executive Vincent Sorgi.
