Stocks to Watch Wednesday: Citi, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, BlackRock -- WSJ

Citi (CITI), Goldman Sachs $(GS)$, JPMorgan $(JPM)$, Wells Fargo $(WFC)$ and Bank of New York Mellon $(BK)$: Earnings season will kick off this morning, with a slew of major banks due to report.

BlackRock $(BLK)$: Results are also due from the world's largest asset manager, shares of which were little changed in premarket trading.

Bureau Veritas (FR:BVI): The France-based testing, inspection and certification company is in talks to buy Swiss peer SGS (CH:SGSN). The combined company would be worth $33 billion at Tuesday's closing prices. Bureau Veritas shares rose in early European trading, while SGS fell.

Lineage (LINE): The world's largest refrigerated-storage company is cutting staff, just six months after an initial public offering that raised $4.4 billion.

Bunge $(BG)$: Canada approved the grain trader and oilseed processor's $8.2 billion purchase of Glencore (UK:GLEN)-backed Viterra. Glencore shares were up 1% in London, with Bunge stock little changed premarket.
