NuScale Power (SMR) said Tuesday that it has named Alan Boeckmann non-executive chairman of the company's board of directors, effective Wednesday.

Boeckmann, who has been a board member of NuScale Power since 2020, is succeeding Jim Hackett, who will step down from the board to become lead independent director at engineering and construction firm Fluor (FLR).

Shares of NuScale Power were up 4.5% in recent premarket activity.
