0843 GMT - Europe's top stock indexes climb at the open, building on Wednesday's gains, after a cease-fire deal between Israel and Hamas and a number of earnings updates fueled investor optimism. France's CAC 40 rises 1.5%, Switzerland's SMI gains 0.9%, and the U.K.'s FTSE 100 is up 0.7%. Meanwhile, Germany's DAX moves 0.2% higher after closing at a record high Wednesday. The pan-European Stoxx Europe 600 index is up 0.6%. Many luxury stocks are among the top gainers in early trade after a better-than-expected sales update from Cartier owner Richemont that eased investor worries about the industry's outlook. Richemont jumps 15%, and peers LVMH and Kering both climb more than 7%. Online fashion retailer Zalando and carmaker Renault are also among the top risers after positive year-end updates.
