President Biden expressed gratitude to the voters of South Carolina on his final full day as president on Sunday-and urged them to remain involved in the nation's biggest fights. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm not kidding," Biden said at a North Charleston, S.C., Baptist church, telling the congregation, "We must stay engaged." The president was accompanied by first lady Jill Biden and family members, including son Hunter Biden, on his final trip aboard Air Force One to the state that rejuvenated his political fortunes during the 2020 primaries.
Biden was joined by Rep. James Clyburn (D., S.C.), whose endorsement proved pivotal in the state and helped propel Biden to the White House. Clyburn told churchgoers that "very little appreciation has been shown recently," and then directed his comments to Biden: "Faint not. History will be very kind to you."
