TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairperson of Commission IV of the House of Representatives (DPR) Siti Hediati Hariyadi, or Titiek Soeharto, will summon the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggo to discuss the resolution to the issue of a 30.16-kilometer sea fence in the waters of Tanjung Pasir, Teluk Naga, Tangerang, Banten. 

Titiek said the meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 23, 2025. “Tomorrow, we will have a meeting with the Minister of KKP at 10:00 a.m.,” said Titiek when met at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Wednesday, January 22. 

Titiek said the meeting would discuss the resolution to the Tangerang sea fence case. She emphasized that Commission IV of the DPR will continue to monitor the case. 

Titik explained that in addition to holding regular meetings with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Commission IV of the DPR will run another inspection of the sea fence location to ensure a proper resolution to the problem. 

She also asked the general public to report any case of power abuse in the sea fence case to authorities.

According to Titiek, Commission IV of the House—responsible for agriculture, forestry, and marine affairs—will also oversee the investigation process against the sea fence’s right to build (HGB) and ownership rights (SHM) certificates, which are considered formally and materially flawed. 

Titiek said Commission IV had also asked the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning to discipline those suspected of violating the rules. 

The members of Commission IV previously conducted an inspection at the sea fence location, boarding a Navy-owned amphibious tank for about 30 minutes.
