Green Technology Metals (ASX:GT1) completed extensional deep diamond drilling at the Root Bay deposit, within its Root Lithium project in Canada, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

Four extension drill holes at the deposit yielded thick, high-grade results, with intercepts of 17.6 meters at 1.4% lithia from 509.7 meters, and 9.1 meters at 1.6% lithia from 476.4 meters, the filing said.

Assays for eight holes are pending and are expected to be received by February, after which a revised mineral resource estimate will be prepared, per the filing.

Shares rose nearly 2% in afternoon trade Tuesday.
