Talisman Mining (ASX:TLM) said that drilling at its Durnings prospect within its Lachlan copper-gold project in New South Wales intercepted base metal and copper-gold mineralization, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

It completed a 2,540-meter, six-hole reverse circulation and diamond drill program with all holes intersecting the target mineralized horizons, as predicted from the geophysics models and structural interpretation.

It reported an intercept of 2.46 meters at 6.2% lead and zinc, 6.8 grams per tonne grade of silver, and 0.01% grade of copper from 297 meters downhole from the base metal zone. It also reported an intercept of 1.9 meters at 2.9 g/t gold, 0.8% copper, 1.09% lead and zinc, and 9.33 g/t silver from 442 meters downhole.

It will conduct a detailed geological and structural analysis of the higher-grade mineralization within the mineralized zones to identify further extensions.

Its shares fell 10% in recent trading on Tuesday.
