LanzaTech Global (LNZA), Haffner Energy, and LanzaJet said Tuesday they are joining forces to pursue the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel, or SAF, from biomass residues, covering the full production process.
The collaboration will focus on building commercial facilities, sharing technology licenses, securing funding, and establishing agreements for SAF supply, the companies stated.
Haffner Energy's flexible biomass technology and LanzaTech's expertise in converting syngas to ethanol will combine with LanzaJet's Alcohol-to-Jet process to produce low-emission SAF, according to the companies.
The CirculAir platform, which integrates LanzaJet and LanzaTech's technologies, aims to expand SAF production by utilizing waste-based feedstocks, said LanzaJet CEO Jimmy Samartzis.
