MW Whirlpool's stock slides as it reports loss and offers soft guidance for 2025
Whirlpool Corp.'s stock tumbled 11% in after-hours trade Wednesday, after the company swung to a loss in the fourth quarter and offered soft guidance for 2025.
The company $(WHR)$ swung to a loss of $7.10 a share in the quarter from earnings of $8.90 a year ago. Adjusted for one-time items, it had EPS of $4.57, ahead of the $4.34 FactSet consensus. Sales fell 18.7% to $4.136 billion, below the $4.236 billion FactSet consensus.
Whirlpool is expecting 2025 adjusted EPS of about $10.00 and sales of about $15.8 billion. The FactSet consensus is for EPS of $12.07 and sales of $16.7 billion.
