Chubb (CB) late Tuesday reported Q4 core diluted earnings of $6.02 per share compared with $8.30 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Factset expected $5.44.

Net premiums written by the insurer for the quarter ended Dec. 31 was $12.60 billion compared with $11.60 billion a year ago.

Analysts were looking for $12.2 billion.
