Lockheed Martin was awarded a $551 million contract from the U.S. Navy to implement its AN/BLQ-10$(V)$ electronic warfare system on new-construction and in-service submarines.
Work under the contract will be performed in Syracuse, N.Y., and is expected to be completed by January 2030, the Defense Department said Monday. The contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring its cumulative value to $1.37 billion.
The AN/BLQ-10(V) system can rapidly receive, analyze and report critical signals of immediate importance to the submarine commanding officer, according to Lockheed Martin. Its features include full-spectrum radar processing, automatic threat warning and situation assessment, and extensive commercial off-the-shelf and network device interface hardware and software.
