Feb 4 - (The Insurer) - Chubb has promoted Seth Gillston to executive vice president and head of global casualty for major accounts in North America, succeeding Lou Capparelli, who will now serve as chairman of global casualty.
Based in New York City, Gillston will report to Matt Merna, senior vice president, Chubb Group and division president of North America major accounts.
Gillston, who joined Chubb in 2000, has been with the company for over two decades, holding leadership roles in M&A and private equity, global casualty, the real estate and hospitality practice, the alternative risk solutions group, and North America industry practices.
In his new role, Gillston will oversee day-to-day operations of the Chubb global casualty business unit, which provides domestic casualty insurance coverage and service solutions for large national and multinational companies.
He will also lead strategies around production, product development and management, as well as profit and loss performance.
"Together, Seth and Lou will work closely to enhance our capabilities and service offerings, aligning our global casualty strategies with the needs of our distribution partners and clients, further strengthening our position as a leading provider of casualty solutions,” said Merna.
Last month, Chubb appointed Andy Houston to lead its newly established commercial insurance division in the UK.
