Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) said Wednesday its total average daily volume was up 21% in January from a year earlier.

The market operator said annual open interest options were up 11% from a year earlier.

Intercontinental Exchange also said that energy ADV increased 26% last month from a year earlier, while open interest was up 13% over the previous 12 months, which it said included record futures of 37.4 million lots as of Jan. 30.

ICE shares were edging 0.3% higher in recent premarket activity.
