The U.S. Postal Service said late Tuesday it temporarily suspended package acceptance of inbound parcels from China and Hong Kong Posts.

USPS did not specify the reason for the suspension or when normal package acceptance will resume.

The move comes after President Donald Trump eliminated the "de minimis" provision, often referred to as the "Shein loophole" that allowed retailers, including PDD-owned (PDD) Temu and Shein, to ship goods valued under $800 to the U.S. without paying duties.

The flow of letters and flats from China and Hong Kong remains unaffected, the postal service said.
