PriceSmart Raises Dividend 8.6% to $1.26

PriceSmart increased its annual dividend to $1.26 from $1.16.

The higher dividend represents an annual yield of about 1.4%, based on Friday's closing price of $91.66.

The operator of membership warehouse clubs in Central America, the Caribbean and Colombia said it will pay a dividend of 63 cents a share on Feb. 28 to stockholders of record as of Feb. 18. It will pay an additional dividend of 63 cents a share on Aug. 29 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 15.

The company said the higher dividend reflects its board's confidence, as well as the strength of its cash-generating activities.
