Tech stocks were mixed late Tuesday afternoon, with the Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) up 0.2% and the SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) decreasing 0.6%.
The Philadelphia Semiconductor index added 0.2%.
In corporate news, Meta (META) is in talks to buy South Korean chip startup FuriosaAI, Forbes reported. Meta shares rose 0.4%.
Harmonic (HLIT) shares dropped 15% after it reported late Monday a 2025 financial outlook that trailed analyst projections.
Intel (INTC) shares jumped past 6% after US Vice President JD Vance said that the "most powerful" artificial intelligence systems will be built in the US.
Shopify (SHOP) reported Q4 results above market estimates, while the e-commerce platform's revenue growth outlook in the current quarter indicated an expected slowdown on a sequential basis. The shares rose 3.7%.
