Energy stocks fell premarket Wednesday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) recently declining by 0.4%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 1.4% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 1.2% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 1.5% at $72.26 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 1.3% to $76.03 per barrel. Natural gas futures were 1.3% higher at $3.565 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
TotalEnergies (TTE) said it has signed a 10-year agreement to supply 400,000 tons of liquefied natural gas to India's state-owned oil and gas company Gujarat State Petroleum starting next year. TotalEnergies shares were down 0.7% pre-bell.
Dominion Energy (D) reported an increase in Q4 operating earnings, while operating revenue fell. Dominion Energy shares were down over 1% premarket.
