FireFly Metals (ASX:FFM) reported results of more than 12% copper-equivalent from drilling at its Green Bay copper-gold project in Canada, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

The high-grade intersections from drilling include intercepts of 10.7 meters at 12.2% grade of copper-equivalent, including 9% grade of copper and 3.9 grams-per-tonne (g/t) grade of gold, as well as 86.3 meters at 3.7% copper-equivalent, including 3.1% grade of copper and 0.6 g/t grade of gold.

Assays from drilling at the Ming Mine within the project will form part of the updated mineral resource estimate.

The intersections prove that previously reported downhole electromagnetic geophysical anomalies are associated with copper and gold mineralization, the filing said.

The company started infill drilling to convert inferred resources to the measured and indicated categories for inclusion in future mining studies, the filing said. It will also conduct resource extension and discovery drilling.

The company's shares were down almost 2% in recent Wednesday trade.
