1. Free Nutritious Meals Proposed One Day Every Week to Save Budget, BGN Responds This Way

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) responded to a civil society proposal that suggested that free nutritious meals program be implemented only once a week in order to save the budget.

This civil society group was present at the launch of the 'Second Series of Free Nutritious Meals Study' by the Center for Indonesia's Strategic Development Initiatives (CISDI). Civil society assessed that the free nutritious meal (MBG) program was wasting the state budget (APBN) which was initially allocated at Rp1 trillion and then proposed to be increased by Rp100 trillion.

The National Nutrition Agency said that the proposal could not be followed up. "Nutritionists agreed and formulated that it should be 5 days (free nutritious meals) so that the nutritional adequacy figure (AKG) is met. If 1 day is not met," said the Director of Community Empowerment and Participation of BGN Tengku Syahdana at the i-Hub Coworking and Space, Jakarta, on Thursday, February 7, 2025.

2. North Jakarta Named National Model for Urban Waste Management

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Environment has tapped North Jakarta as a national example for urban waste management in Indonesia. Noer Adi Wardojo, the Minister's Expert Staff for the Sustainability of Biological Diversity and Socio-Cultural Resources at the Ministry of Environment, emphasized that every region needs a clear roadmap for waste management.

"Our focus is on an agenda that can be felt by all parties," said Noer in a written statement on Saturday, February 8, 2025.

To achieve this, the Jakarta Government has been tasked with creating a more effective system for waste reduction and management. Last Friday, February 7, Head of the Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, met with various waste management stakeholders to discuss the roadmap requested by the central government.

3. Prabowo's Reshuffle Plan Considered a Political Threat to His Ministers

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Political Parameter Executive Director Adi Prayitno said the reshuffle ultimatum delivered by President Prabowo Subianto was a political threat to his ministers who did not work according to his wishes.

According to Adi, the reshuffle threat was Prabowo's climax against his ministers. He considered that Prabowo had given his assistants a three-month opportunity, but their performance was actually bad and detrimental to the people.

"So it is natural that the sentence conveyed in the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Harlan was a kind of political threat to his assistants, whoever they are, if in the future their performance is not according to expectations and is detrimental to the people, they will definitely be removed and will definitely be replaced," Adi Prayitno told Tempo, February 10, 2025.
