Bloom Energy (BE) and Chart Industries (GTLS) said Thursday they are partnering to develop a carbon capture system that uses natural gas and fuel cells to produce low-emission electricity.
As part of the collaboration, Chart will process carbon dioxide from Bloom's fuel cells for storage or reuse, according to the companies.
Bloom Energy and Chart Industries said they aim to provide a product for industries such as data centers and manufacturers that require reliable power while reducing emissions.
BE and GTLS shares were up 2.4% and 1.8%, respectively in recent premarket activity.
