JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Morgan Stanley (MS), Nomura (NMR), and UBS (UBS) are being fined by South Korea's market regulator over allegations of short-selling, news outlets reported Thursday, citing unnamed officials.
"We have concluded administrative sanctions, meaning imposing fines," Reuters cited an official of Korea's Financial Supervisory Service as saying.
The decision was made on Wednesday by the Securities and Futures Commission, Reuters reported.
The companies did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
