South Korean holding firm GS Holdings (KRX:078930) subsidiary GS Caltex is developing an AI-driven smart manufacturing platform to boost automation and customization in the petrochemical sector, The Korea Herald reported Thursday.
The initiative, backed by an 8 billion won industry ministry project, aims to optimize processes and lower emissions. The two-phase project will run through 2028, with initial AI model development followed by a demonstration at its Yeosu plant, the report said.
