BUZZ-Bank of East Asia hits over 4-month peak on higher 2024 profit, dividend

** Shares of Bank of East Asia Ltd 0023.HK rise 5.8% to HK$10.64, highest since October 8, 2024

** Stock on track for biggest one-day pct rise since June 2023, if current gains hold

** Bank of East Asia posts an 11.9% y/y rise in 2024 net profit to HK$4.61 bln ($592.71 mln), with dividends for the year increasing to HK$0.69 per share, from HK$0.54 a year ago

** The Hang Seng Mainland Banks Index .HSMBI adds 0.1%, while the Hang Seng Finance Index .HSNF slips 0.8% and the Hang Seng Index .HSI eases 0.9%

** Stock up 7.5% YTD
