Vicor Shares Climb Following 4Q Earnings, Revenue Beat

Shares of Vicor hit a 52-week high after the company posted fourth-quarter results that surpassed analyst expectations.

The stock was recently up 23% at $64, having retreated slightly from its earlier high of $64.50. Shares have climbed 79% in the past year.

The Andover, Mass., company, which develops and manufactures modular power components and complete power systems, after the bell Thursday reported net income of $10.2 million, up from $8.7 million a year earlier.

Quarterly earnings came in at 23 cents a share, topping the 19 cents that analysts surveyed by FactSet were expecting.

Revenue increased to $96.2 million from $92.7 million. Analysts had forecast sales of $91 million.

Chief Executive Patrizio Vinciarelli said licensing has gained traction, driven by more companies adopting Vicor's patented high-density power-system solutions.
