0647 GMT - Japanese stocks ended higher as concerns about borrowing costs ebb for now. Auto and pharmaceutical stocks led the gains. Chugai Pharmaceutical gained 4.5% and Subaru climbed 3.1%. The 10-year Japanese government bond yield dropped 2 basis points to 1.420% after Bank of Japan Gov. Kazuo Ueda promised to respond to abnormal rises in bond yields. The Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.3% to 38776.94. Investors are focusing on any developments in U.S. trade and foreign policies.
