TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's State Electricity Company (PLN) has signed a memorandum of understanding with PT SAIC General Motors Wuling regarding the installation of home charging or private power charging for electric cars.
With the memorandum of understanding, the installation of Wuling electric car owners' home charging can be completed within seven days. "PLN continues to collaborate with various stakeholders, including Wuling, to facilitate users in charging their vehicles," said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo in a written statement on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
Darmawan conveyed that the cooperation with the electric vehicle company is in line with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 79 of 2023 concerning the acceleration of battery-based electric motor vehicles for road transportation. Currently, he said, PLN plans to expand partnerships with various stakeholders to accelerate the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.
PLN signed the memorandum of understanding with Wuling through its subsidiary, PT Haleyora Power. Acting President Director of Haleyora Power Susiana Mutia hoped that the cooperation between the two companies could encourage the ownership of electric vehicles in Indonesia. "Through this MoU, we are committed to providing home charging services for Wuling customers within a maximum of 7 days from the date of application," said Susiana.
Based on the agreement in this cooperation, Wuling is responsible for providing information to customers about the home charging installation process. Meanwhile, Haleyora Power will conduct site surveys, install home charging devices, and handle the maintenance and repair of devices within the specified period.
