Feb 25 - (The Insurer) - Ryan Specialty has promoted Dawn D’Onofrio to executive vice president and global CUO of its specialty underwriting segment, Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM) with immediate effect.
Previously, D’Onofrio served as CEO of Ryan Specialty’s National Specialty Programs $(NSP)$ practice and CEO of its wholesale-only MGU platforms WKFC Underwriting Managers and AgRisk Underwriters.
Her appointment comes as part of a 90-day transition period for WKFC and AgRisk to Velocity Risk Underwriters, which Ryan Specialty acquired earlier this month.
Additionally, Ravi Singhvi, president of WKFC Underwriting Managers, will continue to lead WKFC and AgRisk as the attritional property specialty within the merged entity.
In her new role, D’Onofrio will oversee underwriting governance and assurance while driving technical excellence across the RSUM platform.
“WKFC and Velocity Risk have independently cultivated impressive businesses, and the joining of forces creates a formidable business opportunity for our clients and carriers,” said D’Onofrio.
Miles Wuller, CEO of RSUM, added: “The enhanced Velocity Risk platform will be positioned to meet the attritional, ground up, excess and highest hazard tier 1 property catastrophe needs of the wholesale community.”
D'Onofrio's promotion is the latest in a series of senior moves at RSUM. Earlier this week, RSUM announced the appointment of Eric Quinn as president, with the executive assuming the role from Wuller, who now serves the business in the sole position of CEO.
The business also recently confirmed the hire of Mark Engel as CEO of its marine and energy practice. The newly created position gives Engel oversight of the seven marine and energy MGUs within RSUM.
