Cisco and Nvidia said they are partnering to make data center use simpler for customers looking to invest in artificial intelligence.
The two companies said Tuesday the partnership will connect their individual networking structures to make it easier for the customers who work with them.
Under the agreement, Cisco would become part of Nvidia's Spectrum-X Ethernet networking platform. Cisco would then build systems combining Nvidia's tools with its own, allowing customers to simultaneously standardize both companies' technologies in a data center.
The companies have collaborated before on designing AI platforms and control planes. Cisco's first eight-way accelerated computing system was built on the Nvidia HGX platform.
"Cisco and Nvidia are partnering to remove barriers for customers and ensure they can optimize their infrastructure investments to unlock the power of AI," Cisco Chief Executive Chuck Robbins said.
