The New York-based company said it had a loss of 42 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 60 cents per share.
The company posted revenue of $148.8 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $145 million.
For the current quarter ending in March, Lemonade said it expects revenue in the range of $143 million to $145 million.
The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $655 million to $657 million.
