Atlas Arteria has attacked the US state of Virginia, claiming it tried to push its toll road near Washington DC into bankruptcy as the company tries to claw back about $US12.7 billion ($20 billion) in unrealised returns.
A lawsuit was filed last week in the US district court against the state, alleging constitutional violations regarding the Dulles Greenway, a 22-kilometre road near Washington DC.
