Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) has given the 2025 G6 its China debut, with the official launch of the SUV (sport utility vehicle) set for March and will be available in international markets in the future.

The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker introduced the 2025 G6 at an event today and began accepting pre-orders, with no pricing information released.

The SUV will be officially launched in early March, when pricing will be announced, and customers who book now will enjoy priority delivery, the company said.

Show cars of the 2025 G6 are currently available at more than 500 Xpeng stores in 214 cities in China.

The updated G6 is a model developed for the global markets and is available in left- and right-hand drive versions, the company said.

The model will follow Xpeng's international expansion into overseas markets, it said.

"We have previously said that this year we will expand our international presence to more than 60 countries and regions. The all-new Xpeng G6 will be available in these countries and regions in the future as well," Xpeng said at today's event.

The 2025 G6 brings 81 upgrades to the exterior, interior and features, and updates 34 percent of the tier 1 assembly parts, the company said.

It measures 4,758 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,890 mm. That's slightly longer than its predecessor's 4,753 mm length.

The model is built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform and comes standard with a battery pack that supports 5C charging. C refers to the charging multiplier, and 5C theoretically means that it can be fully charged in one-fifth of an hour.

Xpeng officially launched the G6 in China on June 29, 2023, and the SUV was at the time instrumental in turning around the company's weak sales from the previous year.

The SUV is currently priced from RMB 199,900 ($27,440) to RMB 276,900 in China.

Last December 10, the new G6 entered a regulatory catalog from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and its filing made no mention of the LiDAR option.

This means that Xpeng will drop LiDAR from the G6 after the P7+ sedan. The company did not mention LiDAR in today's event.

The G6 delivered 54,463 units in 2024, contributing 28.65 percent of Xpeng's 190,068 annual deliveries, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
