Whole Foods plans to open a new store in Chelsea next month, marking the natural foods grocer's first new U.K. location since 2014.

The King's Road location, set to open on March 25, is part of a broader expansion underway at the Amazon-owned chain, with 90 new stores overall in the pipeline. Whole Foods currently has five stores in the U.K. and 14 in Canada, and over 535 stores total, including the U.S.

"Whole Foods Market has roots deeply planted in the U.K., and we are thrilled to be bringing more natural and organic food to this market," said Whole Foods Chief Executive Jason Buechel, who recently added a role overseeing Amazon's global grocery business.

The organic grocer wants to continue expanding in the U.K., though a spokesperson said the company has not signed any other leases yet. Last year, Whole Foods closed two London-area stores and a distribution center, but said at the time that the move would pave the way for growth in the U.K.
