Trump Pushes CBS to Settle '60 Minutes' Lawsuit -- WSJ

President Trump said Wednesday that he believes CBS should settle a lawsuit he brought against them for "a lot," speaking publicly for the first time about litigation that he filed over how the network's "60 Minutes" edited an interview it conducted with his 2024 political opponent Kamala Harris.

"We are in discussion of settlement," Trump said, speaking to reporters at a Cabinet meeting. Trump sued CBS in the fall, and recently doubled the amount he's seeking in damages to $20 billion, alleging the edit amounted to election interference.

Trump also referenced a separate Federal Communications Commission probe of how the network handled the interview, which is part of its review of the planned merger between CBS parent company Paramount Global and Skydance Media.

He said that the agency is "looking at it very strongly" and voiced support for Brendan Carr, whom he appointed to chair the FCC. "The FCC is headed by a very competent person and they have some very competent people on the board," he said.

Paramount shares fell 3% in afternoon trading.
