1205 ET - Restaurants and retailers are struggling with shortages and soaring costs for eggs as avian flu depresses supply, including Denny's. Denny's, which has a big breakfast business across its roughly 1,300 U.S. stores, said Monday that some of its restaurants will add a temporary pricing surcharge on meals that include eggs. Restaurants will impose the surcharges on a market basis in response to regional egg shortages, the company said. (heather.haddon@wsj.com; @heatherhaddon)
