Nippon Shokubai (TYO:4114) said its board approved the construction of a new plant for LiFSI, marketed as IONEL, an electrolyte for lithium-ion batteries, according to a Wednesday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The decision updates a plan first disclosed on Sept. 12, 2024, aimed at strengthening domestic supply.
