Agilent Technologies Lowers Fiscal Outlook as Profit 1Q Falls

Agilent Technologies lowered its fiscal 2025 outlook, as profit narrowed in its fiscal first quarter.

The laboratory-supply and services company on Wednesday said it now expects revenue of $6.68 billion to $6.76 billion, down from a prior outlook for $6.79 billion to $6.87 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect sales of $6.83 billion.

The Santa Clara, Calif., company backed its adjusted per-share earnings outlook of $5.54 to $5.61 for the year, the midpoint of which is just below the $5.56 that analysts modeled.

For its fiscal second quarter, Agilent guided for adjusted per-share earnings of $1.25 to $1.28 on revenue of $1.61 billion to $1.65 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet forecast adjusted earnings of $1.31 a share on revenue of $1.65 billion.

Shares fall 4.1%, to $129.01, in after-hours trading.

In the quarter ended Jan. 31, Agilent reported net income of $318 million, or $1.11 a share, compared with $348 million, or $1.18 a share, a year earlier.

Adjusted per-share earnings came in at $1.31, topping the $1.27 that analysts surveyed by FactSet expected.

Revenue increased 1.4% to $1.68 billion, roughly in line with estimates.
