Shoppers will likely see prices start to increase in the coming days on their grocery bills, Target Chief Executive Brian Cornell said Tuesday. Target depends on fresh produce from Mexico during the winter months.

The 25% tariff implemented by the U.S. on Mexican imports will force Target to raise prices on items such as strawberries, bananas and avocados-as soon as this week, Cornell said. "Those are categories where we'll try to protect pricing, but the consumer will likely see price increases over the next couple of days," he told CNBC. "If there's a 25% tariff, those prices will go up," Cornell said.
