Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) repurchased 1,116,741 shares in London on Friday at a volume weighted average price of around 12.66 pounds sterling apiece, a Monday filing with the Hong Kong bourse said.

The British lender plans to cancel the shares, following which it will have 2,410,831,613 shares in issue.
