Alara Resources (ASX:AUQ) Al Wash-hi Majaza copper concentrate production plant at Oman has received two tailings filter presses (TFPs) ordered from China, to augment production capacity, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The newly arrived filter presses are undergoing inspection by the site operations team to ensure they meet the required specifications, the filing said.

Civil and structural works to accommodate the new equipment are expected to be completed by mid-April, the filing added.

The TFPs, which are designed to operate in parallel with existing equipment, are scheduled to be commissioned by mid-May, the company said.

Shares of the company rose 11% at market close.
