ANI Pharmaceuticals (ANIP) said Monday it received the US Food and Drug Administration's approval for purified cortrophin gel (repository corticotropin injection USP) in a prefilled syringe format as multiple sclerosis therapy.

The gel will be available in various single-dose options through specialty pharmacy network, the company said late Monday. The prefilled syringe reduces "administration steps" for patients using the gel.
