JetBlue Airways named Steve Olson its new head of system operations and airports.

The carrier on Tuesday said that Olson has been promoted to his new role after joining the company in 2022 as vice president of the system operations center.

Since joining the company Olson has driven reliability and efficiency across the company and led a major operational modernization effort, JetBlue said, including the addition of state-of-the-art aircraft movement and flight planning systems with a new crew management system set to go live later this year.

Olson will report to Chief Operating Officer Warren Christie, who took the position a year ago, and continue helping in efforts to return the company to sustained profitability.

In January, JetBlue recorded a loss for the fourth quarter and laid out tepid guidance for the first quarter.
