1229 ET - Restaurants with big breakfast businesses are feeling the impact of avian flu on their costs for eggs, including Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. The family-dining chain says on a F2Q investor call that it expects $4 million in additional costs as one of its egg suppliers has reduced their output because of the outbreak. The chain has purchased some of its eggs on the pricier open market as a result, and expects to have ample supplies. Cracker Barrel surges 7% on better-than-expected adjusted earnings and sales.
