HSBC Holdings (HKG:0005) bought back 5,934,906 shares in Hong Kong and London on Tuesday, according to a Wednesday bourse filing.
The British lender repurchased 2,943,706 shares in the UK at a weighted average price of 9.28 pounds sterling and 2,991,200 shares in Hong Kong at a weighted average price of HK$91.90.
Since the program started, HSBC has repurchased 43,228,543 shares for a total consideration of about $495.4 million.
Upon cancellation of the repurchased shares in the UK, the bank will have 17,804,902,504 ordinary shares with voting rights.
