Resources investors are braced for swinging cuts to China’s steel production to hurt local iron ore miners as the market also prepares for a surge in supply from new and big African projects.
But fund managers expect the pain to be felt by smaller producers, where the cost of production is significantly higher and the quality of iron ore often far lower than at big miners such as BHP and Rio Tinto.
