1323 ET - The January 29 mid-air collision of American Airlines Flight 5342 with a U.S. Army helicopter was a factor in American's 1Q revenue outlook cut, but the tragedy also suppressed bookings for Southwest Airlines and seemingly the broader industry, Southwest's COO Andrew Watterson says at the 2025 JPMorgan Industrials Conference. The weaker bookings carried on for a short time after the crash, "which is understandable," Watterson says. Southwest's routes significantly overlap with American's network. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
