HSBC Holdings (HKG:0005) bought back 6,535,754 shares in Hong Kong and London on Monday, according to a Tuesday bourse filing.
The British lender repurchased 3,535,754 shares in the UK at a weighted average price of 8.64 pounds sterling and 3 million shares in Hong Kong at a weighted average price of HK$88.35.
Since the program started, HSBC has repurchased 68,082,631 shares for a total consideration of about $780.4 million.
Upon cancellation of the repurchased shares in the UK, the bank will have 17,799,188,051 ordinary shares with voting rights.
