Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) repurchased 1,138,800 shares on Monday from J.P. Morgan Securities at a volume weighted average price of around 11.88 pounds sterling apiece, a Tuesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse said.

The British lender plans to cancel the shares, following which it will have 2,404,046,095 shares with voting rights in issue.
