Energy stocks fell premarket Thursday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) down 0.2% recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 0.9% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 1.7% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.8% at $67.08 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 0.8% to $70.36 per barrel, and natural gas futures were 2% lower at $4.00 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Berry (BRY) shares were up over 5% after the company reported higher Q4 adjusted earnings.
Murphy Oil (MUR) shares advanced by more than 3% after the company said its subsidiary agreed to acquire the pioneer floating production storage and offloading vessel from BW Offshore for $125 million.
AleAnna (ANNA) said natural gas production at its Longanesi field in Ravenna, Italy, will start in the near term. Shares of AleAnna were more than 2% lower premarket.
